John Reid has been employed in the cable television / telecommunications industry for almost 25 years. He commenced his career as the Director of Corporate Communications with Cable Atlantic, a cable TV operator in Newfoundland, Canada in 1988 and was subsequently promoted to the position of General Manager of the company’s western division in 1989.

In 1994, Mr. Reid joined Persona Communications as Director of Sales and Marketing for its Newfoundland division, a position he held until 1996, when he assumed the position of Vice President, Marketing for Persona’s national operations. In 2002, Mr. Reid was promoted to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Persona’s Canadian business, a position that he held until leaving the company in 2004. In this capacity, Mr. Reid was responsible for the management and performance of an operation that provided digital cable television, broadband Internet, and telecommunications services to approximately 250,000 customers across seven Canadian provinces.

Mr. Reid has been a member of the executive team of Columbus since 2005, initially serving as President of its Trinidad operations, followed by President of the southern Caribbean region, before being named President of Columbus Communications in April 2011.

Mr. Reid has had extensive involvement in the cable television industry. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Cable Systems Alliance from 2000-2004, serving as Vice Chairman in 2004. Mr. Reid was also a Board member for the Canadian chapter of the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) from 2001-2004, holding the position of President until he resigned from Persona. From 2000-2003, Mr. Reid served on the editorial Board of CSR Communicator, a Canadian Cable TV industry training publication. Currently Mr. Reid serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Caribbean Cable Co-op and is a member of the Pace Advisory Board.

Mr. Reid holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and an MBA from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Mr. Reid is a Canadian Citizen and resides in Florida.
