Stan Spavold‚ FCA joined Clearwater Fine Foods Incorporated (Clearwater) as Executive Vice–President in November of 2002. He provides expertise in the areas of capital market transactions, financial reporting and control‚ taxation‚ long and short–term treasury management‚ financial structuring and analysis and corporate development.

Working with John Risley , Stan overseas the various holdings of Clearwater‚ and serves on the board of a number of the public and private companies over which Clearwater has significant influence or control. Clearwater has total assets under management of approximately $2.0 billion.

Stan also serves various charities as a Governor of Dalhousie University and Chair of its Investment Committee. Stan is also a member of the Nova Scotia Institute's disciplinary committee.

Mr. Spavold joined Clearwater after 15 years in senior financial leadership roles with McCain Foods Limited. McCain is the world’s largest producer of frozen potato products. During his tenure with McCain‚ Mr. Spavold served on various boards of diversified investment‚ manufacturing and service companies.


Mr. Spavold began his career at KPMG. Specializing in taxation‚ he spent nine years serving a variety of public and private clients as a key financial advisor. He graduated from Dalhousie University with his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1981. He received his CA in 1983 and his FCA in 2010.
