Mr. Hugh is vice president of corporate development and investor relations at Columbus International Inc. Mr. Hugh is responsible for business development, mergers & acquisitions and general corporate development for Columbus. He is also responsible for developing and managing the Company’s relationships with the investment community.
Mr. Hugh has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Columbus, he was as an Investment Banker at RBC Capital Markets in New York for 11 years. As an industry coverage officer in the Communications and Media Group within the Corporate Finance practice at RBC, he was responsible for originating, structuring and executing a variety of capital markets and mergers and acquisitions transactions. Mr. Hugh’s substantial transaction experience totals over $20 billion in aggregate value and include Silver Lake’s acquisition of Skype Technologies S.A., the global refinancing of Cumulus Media, Inc. in conjunction with their acquisition of Citadel Broadcasting Corporation and various financings for companies such as Verizon, The Walt Disney Company, Discovery Communications and Columbus International Inc.
Prior to joining RBC, Mr. Hugh was a member of the Financial Institutions Tax Planning Group at Deloitte & Touche, LLP in Toronto where he advised several of the “Big Six” Canadian banks on tax optimization strategies as well as acting as an advisor to the Toronto Stock Exchange. Prior to this, Mr. Hugh held various positions at BDO Dunwoody, LLP and Bayer Inc. Mr. Hugh holds a Bachelor of Accounting (Honors) degree and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Waterloo, and is a Chartered Accountant.
